Daniel Radcliffe became dependent on alcohol

London, July 5 : Actor Daniel Radcliffe revealed he became dependent on alcohol when he was 18 while struggling to cope with the pressures of fame.

The 22-year-old actor, who rose to fame in 2001 when he first played the titular role in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", says he started drinking heavily while working on the sixth movie in the franchise, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince".

"I became so reliant on alcohol to enjoy stuff. There were a few years there when I was just so enamoured with the idea of living some sort of famous person's lifestyle that really isn't suited to me," femalefirst.co.uk quoted the actor as saying.

Radcliffe gave up alcohol in August last year.

The new law increasing the alcohol consumption age to 25 in Maharashtra, is not being favored by many Bollywood stars. Actor Imran Khan appears to have taken it upon himself to file a PIL against the new ruling.

Presently, media is abuzz that the ‘Delhi Belly’ hero Imran Khan feels that raising of the drinking age to 25 in Maharashtra is utterly unfair, as when people can vote and marry at 18 and have kids at 21, then why can’t they chose to drink or not to drink at an early age.

 Imran tells he doesn’t endorse nor wish to promote drinking among youth. But what he’s concerned about is the right of freedom to choose for the youngsters who are mature enough to take important decisions like marriage.

Imran’s call to action has his I Hate Luv Storys co-star Sonam Kapoor saying cheers as well.

“If you can vote, get married, have children, drive a car… why on earth can’t you drink? It’s ridiculous we are not living in the dark ages,” told Sonam.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote in his social networking blog: “On drinking age limit increased to 25 ! Err .. old and mature enough to vote for the country, or join army ..and fight for the nation…but not old and mature enough to be told when you are allowed to drink ???? Strange ?!!!! (sic) .”

Many other Bollywood celebrities have also spoken against the ruling.

Lohan, whose life is absent of consequences for chronic criminal conduct, shall no doubt celebrate this corrupt victory by getting drunk and high. Keep it up though and one of these days it is going to stick.

She is trying to "party like it's 1999" and there is no tomorrow, which would be a really dumb way to go.

What happened to becoming responsible and getting her life in order. Responsible people do not party everyday and linger in watering holes, staring a alcohol like they want to marry it. Take your freckled backside home and play scrabble for a change, you little Kabbalah witch.

Didn't the judge say Lohan wasn't supposed to go places that serve alcohol as their main product, yet she has done just that. Man, if I were the D.A. in Lohan's case, I'd be sitting in my office with a smoothie, reggae CD on, desk emptier than Lindsay's brain, throwing darts at the wall, laughing at how easy that chick is making my job.

In all seriousness, isn't it embarrassing for her to go from starring in studio films, to relying on tipping off paparazzi for income. She keeps sabotaging herself, like she doesn't want to get her life on track.

Atlanta attorney, Eckhart Blackert, is offering a seven minute video, of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of singers, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, smoking marijuana from a bong and offering her opinions on drugs. The source of the video is believed to be, Brown's ex-boyfriend in Atlanta, Georgia, Zach Jafarzadeh.

This month a scandal erupted when the National Enquirer published photos of the teen snorting lines of cocaine off a plate. Jafarzadeh is certainly selling her out for cash.
