Samantha Mumba's fiance caught cavorting with young Latina nurse... and he's a police officer

Just weeks after the singer said she was going to marry U.S. police officer Torray Scales, the MoS catches him secretly cavorting with another girl

Samantha Mumba's fiancé is having a secret affair with a young Latina nurse, the Irish Mail on Sunday can reveal.

Police officer Torray Scales has been sneaking behind the Irish star's back to enjoy clandestine liaisons with voluptuous Desiree Cortez.

In a series of exclusive pictures that will break the actress's heart, Scales was photographed hugging and passionately kissing the 23-year-old as he left her apartment this week.

He had earlier been spotted sipping beers and holding hands with Desiree as the two enjoyed a romantic lunch.

Neighbours in her inexpensive apartment complex described how the American cop is a regular visitor there, often turning up in the afternoon and leaving a few hours later.

Desiree, meanwhile, has stated that Scales is her 'boyfriend' and is understood to have been seeing him for much of the past two years.

The news will devastate Mumba, 28, who announced her engagement to Scales in the summer and planned to walk down the aisle with him as soon as February next year.

One neighbour revealed: 'Desiree says this guy is her boyfriend, so I guess he must be. I got the impression they have been together for some time, at least a year or two.

'We only see him every couple of weeks or so. I guess he must keep pretty irregular hours in whatever job he does.'

Told that Scales is engaged to an Irish celebrity, the neighbour, added: 'That would be really shocking, actually. He looks very much like he is with Desiree whenever we see them together. They seem like any other young couple that is having a good time and enjoying hanging out together.'

Scales was spotted on another one of his secret trips to Desiree's San Diego apartment on Wednesday this week. Dressed casually in light grey shorts and a black T-shirt, he arrived just before 1pm local time.

Desiree and Scales then left the apartment about 10 minutes later in his sports car. They headed to a nearby Mexican chain restaurant called Chipotle and ordered food and a couple of beers.

Desiree and Scales were seen laughing and flirting as they enjoyed an alfresco lunch.

She spent much of the meal with her hand placed on his knee and at one point tenderly placed her hand on his shaven head.

Perhaps conscious that he was only a drive away from the suburban home he shares with Mumba, Scales seemed agitated and frequently looked around to see who was walking past their table.

An onlooker said: 'You could see that this girl was completely smitten with him. She was staring into his eyes and was taking every opportunity to have physical contact with him. But the guy looked very nervous and was much less relaxed than you would expect a grown man to be during a romantic lunch.

'He almost flinched every time she touched him and at one point you could see him backing his chair away from hers. It was only after he drank his beer that he seemed to loosen up. By the end of the meal, they were laughing and flirting with each other.

'Then they walked to his car and had a brief embrace before they got into his vehicle − and then they were gone.'

Desiree and Scales got back to her apartment just before 2pm. He emerged over two-and-a-half hours later looking slightly dishevelled and with a big smile across his face.

Desiree was at his side, barefoot. Her hair, which was immaculately styled during their lunch date, was now tied in a bunch above her head.

They kissed passionately on the lips and hugged for some time before Scales got back into his car and left.

He then got a drive-through meal at a McDonald's before making the two-hour drive north to the apartment he shares with Mumba in Rialto, California. Before arriving home, he got another drive-through meal from the Carl's Jr chain.

It is not clear if Mumba was inside their apartment at the time. Desiree, meanwhile, posted a message on her Twitter account earlier in the day stating: 'Excited to spend the day with him!!!'

The previous month, on August 10, she had referred to the cop by name, tweeting to one of her female friends: 'Lol when Torray leaves come over!!!!'

Neighbours told how Desiree is training to be a nurse and hails from the small town of Brawley, California, where Scales recently worked as a police officer.

Scales previously was a trainee cop in more glamorous Orange County. But he lost that position after his superiors found out that he had tried to cover up a domestic incident following an argument with his now ex-wife.

Indeed, despite describing him as her 'perfect match', Scales seems to have brought little but ignominy into Mumba's life since they first got together four years ago.

The Irish star met the cop in a Hollywood nightclub in 2007. She was immediately bowled over by his mega-watt smile and easy-going charm − and they soon developed a serious relationship. Mumba even got a tattoo in an intimate area in honour of her new boyfriend.

Trouble first flared however when Scales's former wife, Amber Bell-Scales, gave a series of interviews in which she claimed she was still in a relationship with him when he met the actress.

The suggestion in one downmarket tabloid that Mumba was a 'marriage wrecker' prompted a legal action from the star.

Amber, who is mother to Scales's young son, Mason, went on to state that he attempted to continue a relationship with both women right up until the point that Mumba appeared on the Dancing On Ice show in 2008.

Scales categorically denied this at the time. However, his denials should perhaps be seen in a new light following these latest cheating allegations.

Desiree refused to comment on her relationship with Scales when approached by the MoS.
