Bipasha Basus casual dinner with Shahid Kapoor

Lone ranger Bipasha Basu and lovelorn Shahid Kapoor are making the most of their ‘single’ status.Buzz has it that the couple recently met over dinner and was heard talking about working in a film together soon.

On Saturday night, Bipasha and Shahid were spotted having dinner at a swanky Bandra cafe with director Siddharth Anand and his better half Mamta.

Apparently, Siddharth is a close pal of Ranbir Kapoor and has also worked with Bipasha in ‘Bachna Aye Haseeno.’ So far, Shahid and Siddharth had never worked and were seen bonding at the dinner.

Apart from casual conversation, Shahid, Bipasha and Siddharth discussed the possibility of doing a film together.

Talking to a daily, a source said, “Bipasha is really fond of Siddharth. She wanted him to come for a casual dinner with Shahid. They were joking around and having a good time. Shahid was quite interested in discussing the possibility of doing a romantic film with Bips.

A few months ago, there was buzz that Sid wanted to remake the Tom Cruise film ‘Knight and Day’ with Shahid and Priyanka for a leading production house. However, the project never took off.”

“The conversation wasn`t seriously about work. The motive behind the dinner meeting was to catch up, but they couldn`t help discussing working in the future,” added the source.

Shahid and Bipasha were last seen together in ‘Shikhar’ (2005), but the duo wasn’t cast opposite each other.

Shahid Kapoor during the first look launch of his movie MAUSAM said, "Sonam has very high fashion standards. She doesn't entertain people whose fashion standards don't match hers. Therefore you have to dress and look in a certain way and get an approval on it!

Fortunately through the making of this film I tried to educate myself on that and I hope that I'll have a stamp of approval on it!"

I'm the only hero to fly a F-16: Shahid Kapoor

Mumbai, July 11 : Actor Shahid Kapur, who had the rare experience of flying multirole jet fighter aircraft F-16 to adapt traits of a fighter pilot for his forthcoming film "Mausam", takes pride in being the only film actor to have flown that ultimate flying machine.

"I was quite fortunate that I flew an F-16 fighter plane. I don't think any other actor has ever flown a F-16. Even when actor Tom Cruise had done 'Top Gun' he had flown an F15. I was very fortunate to get that opportunity. It was a very exciting experience for me," Shaid told reporters at the first look of the film at the PVR here Monday.

The actor had flown the American fighter aircraft at the AeroIndia defence exhibition in Bangalore earlier this year.

Sharing his overwhelming experience, Shahid reveals: "Honestly I was not fond of flying in a plane but when I actually sat in it and flew it I was so excited that I started shouting. It was probably the most exhilarating experience one could have. I am someone who loves speed anyway.

"So, the fact that I was sitting in a F-16 and I was a co-pilot was unbelievable. I also went through G force. If you know when you fly such a plane you can go up to G9. G1 is when you feel your body weight; G2 is when you feel two times your body weight. He (The co-pilot) took me up to G6. That's something I would take through my grave with me."

"I think it was required to understand my part better and it helped me to understand what all goes to become a fighter pilot," he added.

Shaid closely followed the mannerisms of the Indian Air Force pilots in the bases he visited and maintains that he is completely in awe of their attitude.

"I visited some air force bases to meet some air force pilots; I sat on the aircraft, I put on the G-suit, observed how they walk with the helmet. All things like that which actually gives you some kind of perspective of what it is to be representing the country and to be the part of the arm force and to be an Air Force pilot.

"It's interesting to know that the value of an air force pilot is Rs.300 crore in an average because that's the money invested to make an air force officer over a period of time. He is an extremely valuable commodity. They are taken extremely good care of. They all met me like 'Oh tu to hero hai, haan thik hai'. They all have this attitude, which is awesome. They are the real heroes," said Shahid.

The directorial debut of his actor father Pankaj Kapur, "Mausam" is a love story with actress Sonam Kapoor playing the lead opposite him.

"'Mausam' is about season of love. It's about different emotions and different situations that the couple goes through. That's the theme of the film," said Shahid.

"Mausam" is set to hit theatres Sep 16.

Bollywood lacks good young actors, says Kabir Bedi

Toronto, June 24 : Veteran actor Kabir Bedi rates Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor as the two best young actors in Bollywood today.

"But frankly there is dearth of young bright talented actors coming through. That's what Bollywood lacks today,'' feels Bedi who is one of the few Indian actors to make it to Hollywood.

"The problem could be also due to the fact that older actors keep reinventing themselves. Salman Khan is still there, Shah Rukh Khan is still ruling there. Akshay Kumar is there,'' Bedi told IANS here.

"But Ranbir and Shahid are the two most promising new-generation actors, and I want to see more young actors in Bollywood,'' he said.

However, he feels there is no death of young actresses.

"Bollywood has seen no such problem when it comes to new actresses. We have so many of them. We have just seen Anuskha Sharma come from nowhere. We have Deepita Padukone who too came from nowhere. We have Priyanka Chopra who has been on the scene for about 10 years now. She also came from nowhere. So I think are some very good young actresses.''

Asked what he thought of Deepa Mehta's description of Bollywood as "Indian kitsch'' and not true representative of Indian culture, he said, "Deepa is a great filmmaker of finer sensibilities. These may be her elitist views, but Bollywood does reflect India and its Indian culture. That it is has a huge audience worldwide shows that it reflects Indian culture.''

Later, speaking a discussion on 'Hollywood, Bollywood and Beyond,'' Bedi said Bollywood is a potent symbol of India.

He said though has not worked much in Bollywood, he has no hesitation calling himself a Bollywood actor.

"Bollywood is the most potent symbol of India. It has promoted (communal) unity. It has promoted Hindi as India's national language. Bollywood unites India,'' he said.

Priyanka Chopra no longer a part of Kaminey Sequel

After the success of the movie ‘Kaminey’, which starred actor Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, the makers of the movie are all set to make a sequel of the movie. While most of the Bollywood sequels retain their earlier cast, reports have claimed that Priyanka will not be a part of the sequel.

And the alleged reason behind Priyanka’s absence from the movie is the cold-war between Shahid and Priyanka. Sources from the production unit have said that Shahid has refused to work with Priyanka in any of the future projects after they finsihed filming Kunal Kohli’s upcoming movie.

But the makers of ‘Kaminey 2’ have denied the reports saying that the news is false and that the actress is not a part of the movie as she does not fit in the sequel. Director Vishal Bhardwaj is currently working on the script of the movie.

After ‘Kaminey 2’ the director will be working with Ajay Devgn for a movie that is also co-produced by him. Vishal has told Shahid to work on his six packs for the sequel of ‘Kaminey’. Vishal will also be directing the movie ‘2 States’ along with Shahrukh Khan. 2 states is the book written by the popular author Chetan Bhagat.

Actor Shahid Kapoor Recently Spotted With VJ Bani

Shahid Kapoor has been in news for quiet sometime due to his on and off affair with actress Priyanka Chopra. There has been a loss of count how many times they broke apart and got back together.

But this time Sasha is in news for a new reason ...after his break off with Piggy Chops he is busy socialising and partying at various hot spots.

He was recently spotted with VJ Bani at a Bandra nightspot.

An eyewitness revealed to a daily, "Shahid was accompanied by a male friend and the very popular VJ - Bani J.

Shahid and Bani were having their meal and were seen joking around and having a gala time. Both were there for an hour while having their meal. Bani even emptied a few drinks and all three of them left together."

A source said, "Apparently, after his breakup with Priyanka, Shahid is on a `friend-making` spree.

During the course of his relationship with Priyanka, he barely went out or socialised. Now that he is single, he is making full use of the freedom."

When contacted, Bani confirmed, "I was eating out with Shahid. We go to the same gym, and at times our work-out schedules coincide.

We just felt a bit hungry that day and decided to have a meal."

Well we hope it’s just post-gym-bonding and not more than that!

Shahid Kapoor And Priyanka Chopra In 100 Years

Their real life romance might not be official yet, but Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra will play lovers for 100 years in an upcoming movie.

The film would be directed by Kunal Kohli who has made love stories like Hum Tum and Mujhse Dosti Karogi before.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, "This has a very different script dealing with the concept of eternal love. Priyanka loved the script the very moment she heard it and has accommodated her dates to shoot with her beau Sasha."

Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor, who were earlier seen together in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey, will be seen in different get-ups and lPriyanka-Shahidocations in the film.

The source adds, "Since it is a period film, spanning over 100 years, it becomes essential to have different get-ups and different locations with unique set-ups and backdrops.

Kunal has shortlisted various locations, but he will be paying a personal visit to each one to ensure that the locations fit into the script perfectly."

Kunal Kohli is yet to finalise the locations and title.

Shahid Kapoor And Priyanka Chopra's Love Saga

Much has been talked about the Shahid Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra love saga. But the duo never admitted they were ever dating when they were in a relationship and always remained tight-lipped about their equation when romours of their break up sprung up. Reportedly the sizzling duo will be seen opposite each other in filmmaker Kunal Kohli’s next.

Buzz has is that the film has two women playing the lead roles. Producer-director Kunal has plans to approach Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and Deepika Padukone for the second lead role.

However, the filmmaker chose to maintain silence on Shahid-Priyanka teaming up for his latest. While talking to a news daily, he said, "It is true that Shahid has been signed on. It is a love story spanning a 100 years.

I cannot comment on the actresses as we haven`t started casting yet," is all he said. Shahid told BT, "I have enjoyed Kunal`s works in the past whether it`s ‘Hum Tum’ or ‘Fanaa’ and I`m looking forward to this love story. Whoever he decides to be cast opposite me, I`m okay with it."

Shahid-Priyanka fans have not been able to rejoice after ‘Kaminey’. Now with news of the duo hitting the silver-screen together for their new film might give their fans a reason to smile.

But whether or not PC will accept Kunal’s offer is something to wait and watch, considering the fact that the lady has been more in news over her alleged relationships with her co-stars and little for her work.

Friendship Between Priyanka And Shahid Kapoor

The Morani brothers want to cash in on the newfound, or shall we say rehashed, “friendship” between Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor (please see our story below). The newest addition on the Rishi Kapoor-Morani world tour, with Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and (ahem) Priyanka Chopra, may well be Shahid Kapoor.

Apparently, the Moranis have approached Shahid to be a part of the world tour. A source says, “They are very keen on having Shahid on board because he is a great dancer. He’s in fact better than Ranbir. Getting the two Kapoors to perform together on stage will take the show to another level. Both actors have millions of fans across the globe.”

Surely watching two strapping young lads shake a leg should guarantee a packed audience, but a Shahid-Priyanka dance number on stage would be worth more.

Mohammad Morani, head honcho of Cineyug, doesn’t deny having approached Shahid and says, “It will be good to have Ranbir and Shahid on the same platform, but nothing is concrete yet. It will take nearly another month to finalise everything.”

Despite a text message, Shahid remained unavailable for comment but his spokesperson says, “Shahid has to work out his shooting and promotion dates for Mausam and then he’ll decide if he can be a part of the show.” One can blame it on the weatherman, if that doesn’t work out.

Actor Shahid Kapoor Wants To Buy A Six-Seven Bedroom Apartment

Shahid Kapoor currently resides in an apartment at the upscale Raj Classique complex in Versova, suburban Mumbai. He wants to move into a bigger apartment but two reasons or people are holding him back.

Shahid is meeting real estate agents because he wants to buy a six-seven bedroom apartment to accommodate a gymnasium and a couple of guest bedrooms. His current home has three bedrooms and is a sea-facing one. He wants the new place to have a sea-view too, which means he can shift to South Mumbai or Bandra or Juhu or another area of Versova. But sea-facing apartments are hard to find in Mumbai.

Another reason Shahid does not want to move from his current pad is because his father Pankaj stays in the same building and he likes that sense of security. Moreover, his good friend Priyanka Chopra stays in the complex, she has three flats in the next wing and is his neighbour. And Shahid obviously likes his neighbour a lot.

Shahid says, 'I am looking for a new place but it is hard to find a huge house with a sea-view. It's not that I am not moving because Priyanka is my neighbour.'

When asked about his equation with her, he said, 'Somethings about my life are personal and I like it that way. I will come out in the open when I am fully committed to someone. Let's say Priyanka and I are neighbours and friends.'
