Sachin Tendulkar Has Invited Aishwarya Rai And Abhishek Bachchan

Even two days after the finale of the World Cup tournament and India’s eventual victory over the Sri Lankans in the final match, the nation seems to be running cricket fever.

And the man to whom the men in blue dedicated the coveted trophy has just begun his celebrations.

The feeling of winning the cup is still yet to sink in. Buzz has it that Sachin Tendulkar has invited Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan to join him for the celebrations.

Amitabh Bachchan who was very much superstitious until the final match tweeted, “Abhishek and Aishwarya been invited by Sachin for a celebration ..guess I shall have to wait till the morning for the excitement!”

The legendry actor, who along with his son and daughter-in-law went out in the streets like commoners to cheer for the victorious Indian side, is yet to call it a day for rejoicing the historic moment.

And now with the first family of Bollywood making it to Sachin’s bash, the party for the Bachchans’ seems to have just begun.

Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar has music ranking second only after his love for Cricket. His immense admiration for the legendary Mangeshkar sisters is too known to all. The maestro is in fact on a mission to help Asha Bhonsle top the illustrious list of top 5 most iconic musicians of the world from the last 50 years, in a poll conducted by CNN. 

CNN’s new arts and culture show "icon," in conjunction with music magazine "Songlines," has shortlisted 20 globally renowned musicians from the past 50 years. Of the 20 nominations, Asha Bhonsle is the only Indian artist competing with the likes of Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bob Marley, The Beatles to name a few.

Sachin Tendulkar has pasted the link of the poll on his profile page of a microblogging site which will enable Asha’s global fans and Sachin’s above 5 Lakh followers to vote for her.

Other than spreading the word about Asha’s billionth achievement, Sachin has even expressed his admiration for her by saying, “Wonderful to know that Asha Bhonsle's name has figured in the all time top 20 music icons in the world of the last 50years. She is the only Indian to figure in this list. Let's vote to make her the no 1 artist in the world.”

Asha too obliged her fan Sachin as she responded, “Thank you so much Sachin...I admire you a lot. It feels great to be in list of 20 icons...more then that feel so good for my country.”

Sachin Tendulkar is undoubtedly the number one batsman in the world and the maestro now intends to see Asha too achieve the position she ideally deserves in the world of music.

Sachin Tendulkar To Host Bigg Boss

Alright! “Bigg Boss 4′ is slated for a year-end launch. Colors though have begun the hunt for a host and the inmates.

Reportedly, Amitabh Bachchan was slated to continue his tryst with “Bigg Boss’ but Big B chose “Kaun Banega Crorepati’ instead. That left Colors to look for an able replacement. Shah Rukh Khan was earlier said to have stepped into Big B’s shoes, but reports say that King Khan has turned down the offer as he’s busy shooting in Bali for Don 2.

The same report says that Colors is looking to Akshay Kumar to bail them out, and if he refuses too, then they might opt for a non-filmy celebrity. Akshay is highly improbable as he will be hosting “Master Chef India’ on a rival channel around the same time.

The speculative game has just begun expect, more probable hosts ad contestants to emerge. Apparently, we’ve been amused to hear the name of Sachin Tendulkar. Yes, you’ve heard it right! The great India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on “Bigg Boss’.

A little birdie from the production informs, “There is plenty of speculation surrounding “Bigg Boss’. Most of it is coming from the media. What I can tell you is that some time back, we did hear the name of Shah Rukh as a probable host.

Colors want the show to be much bigger than last time. Some even spoke of having Tendulkar. That is highly improbable though. Perhaps, the channel might want him as a guest in one of the episodes”.

Well, the source itself has ruled out the possibility of Sachin hosting. We have our doubts whether Tendulkar will even entertain any thoughts of making guest appearance. If an Amitabh, SRK or Aamir were to host the show, Tendulkar might just entertain thoughts of being generous guest.

As “Bigg Boss’ fans, we certainly long to see Sachin on the show. Let’s hope the Sachin that the birdie talked aobut is Tendulkar and not his doppelganger Balbir Chand. The speculation game has just begun.

Twitter Protests Against Sachin Tendulkar's Book

 It was recently announced that Sachin Tendulkar's autobiography, The Tendulkar Opus, will have a limited 'blood edition' releasing next February. The edition will weigh 37 kgs, contain 852 pages edged in gold leaf and consist of his unpublished family pictures.

Strangely, the 10 editions of the book, which have been priced at $75,000 each, will have an autograph of Tendulkar that will mix his blood with paper pulp. The book will also feature the batsman's DNA profile, obtained from his saliva.

People are voicing their protests online. Shobha De tweeted, "Sachin's blood and saliva in an 852 pages book costing $75,000, weighing 37 kg? Aaaargh! This blood edition OPUS sounds bloody awful, almost sick."

Tweets on this from Sachin's fans on the internet ranged from "ridiculous", "weird" to "not done" and "cheap". One fan noted, "I'm disappointed at this. Thought the unassuming great had more class". Another joked, "Thank God the book doesn't have Sachin's semens in it."

Director Vivek Agnihotri also tweeted, "Sachin's blood and saliva in an 852 pages book costing $75,000,weighing 37kg? Already 10 bookings. Atleast 10 people are honest idiots."

Sachin Tendulkar's Blood Signature On His Biography

The publishers of Sachin Tendulkar's autobiography 'Tendulkar Opus' has decided to come out with a special edition of the book which will have the iconic batsman's blood on the signature page.

The "blood edition" of Tendulkar's autobiography, which will have pictures of his family not published earlier and thoughts about his career, will be released in February next year to coincide with the Cricket World Cup in the sub-continent.

The book, which will have 852 pages edged in gold leaf, will be sold at a whopping USD 75,000. Only 10 copies of the book, which will weigh 37kg and measure half a metre square, will come out.

All the 10 copies have, however, been pre-ordered. "The signature page will be mixed with Sachin's blood --mixed into the paper pulp so it's a red resin. It is what it is -- you will have Sachin's blood on the page," publisher Kraken Media's chief executive Karl Fowler was quoted as saying in 'The Guardian'.

"It's not everyone's cup of tea, it's not to everyone's taste and some may think it's a bit weird. But the key thing here is that Sachin Tendulkar to millions of people is a religious icon. And we thought how, in a publishing form, can you get as close to your god as possible?" said Fowler.

"We're publishing next February, in time for the cricket World Cup, which is being held in India. It's perfect timing.

He's never done an autobiography before and has a great story to tell."

Apart from his blood, Tendulkar has also been asked for a sample of his saliva which would be used to create his DNA profile and would be printed on a two-metre gatefold in the book.

"What you'll be looking at is his genetic makeup," Fowler said.

All proceeds from the sale of the 10 copies will go to Tendulkar's charitable foundation to help build a school in Mumbai.

Kraken will also publish around 1,000 copies of a cheaper edition of the autobiography at USD 2,000-3,000.

Signed by Tendulkar, this edition will also be a half-metre square in size and will contain around 75 per cent previously unpublished material about the cricketing star, as well as his DNA profile -? but not his blood. Kraken Media is also releasing a USD 200-300 smaller edition of the book.

Sachin Tendulkar Feels Spain Playing Fine Football

Cricketing giants Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid have backed Spain to win the FIFA World Cup. Tendulkar, Dravid and a majority of the Sri Lanka-bound Indian cricketers assembled here on Thursday night for an impending tour of Sri Lanka. 

The side, sans skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, paceman Abhimanyu Mithun and wicket-keeper batsman Wridhhiman Saha, will leave for Sri Lanka on Friday morning to play in a three-Test series that will be followed by a triangular ODI series with New Zealand as the third side.

The newly married Dhoni, who arrived here with wife Sakshi, will fly to Colombo on Saturday after attending a function here on Friday evening — the Indian captain will be made an honorary member of the Madras Cricket Club. Mithun and Saha, with the India `A’ team in England, will journey to the Sri Lankan capital from London.

While the cricketers were focussed on the campaign in Sri Lanka, they also shared their thoughts about the title match of the engrossing and hugely popular football World Cup. Tendulkar said, “I think Spain has been playing fine football. The side’s passing has been slick and it is playing in a very organised manner. I feel it has an edge over Holland in the final.”

Dravid said, “Spain is a very well balanced team. There are no obvious weaknesses in the side. The players are very good on the ball. Holland is a worthy opponent and it could be a tough game but I think Spain will emerge triumphant.” Yuvraj Singh, appearing slimmer and fitter, said, “It’s going to be Spain man, no question about that.” Turning his attention to the Spain-Germany semifinal, he said, “Paul the Octopus can never be wrong. It gets everything right.”

Sachin Tendulkar Will Titled As The New Hair Style Icon

Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar's looking different these days. The stylish new hair do that he sported in the stands during the Wimbledon match between Serena Williams and Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova on Saturday is getting thumbs up from the hairstyle experts, though they make it clear that his crop of wavy, thick hair is thanks to some cool styling and not hair weaving or transplant.

"It's a textured cut where lots of wax has been used. He's certainly not got a transplant done as he is gifted with naturally good hair texture," said stylist Jawed Habib. According to Shanti of Hair n Shanti, "To add volume to his hair, Sachin seems to have used styling gel that also gives the illusion of straight and neat hair."

"I cannot even believe how good Sachin looks. He has used a product to tame the frizz n dry curls," said stylist Sapna Bhavnani. "It cud be retexturing, like temporary rebonding meant to smoothen the hair. With such styling, one doesn't have to apply gel everyday," said hair expert Simi Ghai.

Sachin's fans, however, seem least bothered about the technicalities and are raving about the look. "He looks 10 years younger," says Smriti Mehta, 21. "The style is going to be a hit with all youngsters as it is short and smart," said Jay Aggarwal, 32. "He should be titled as the new style icon," said Arpita Gulati, 22.

Bollywood To Honour Sachin Tendulkar's IAF Post

Ever since Sachin Tendulkar added a new feather to his illustrious cap - that of being conferred the honourary rank of Group Captain in the Indian Air Force, congratulations from the celebrity brigade haven't stopped pouring in.

"Sachin is the greatest role model. Who could have been a better choice?" said cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu. "He deserves every bit of this honour," said anchor Mandira Bedi.

On choosing Sachin for the honour, Wg Cdr Tarun Kumar Singha, Public Relations Officer, Indian Air Force said, "It is our way of acknowledging this great sporting icon." Sachin responded, "I'll do my best to be a brand ambassador for the IAF."

However, the fact that Sachin has become the first person totally unconnected to the field of aviation, to be granted an honourary rank in the IAF since the practice was started in 1944, hasn't gone down too well with everyone.

An air force officer, not wanting to be named, said, "What has Sachin done for the Air Force to deserve the rank? He is a great player but celebrities should not be mixed with armed forces."

Sachin Tendulkar To Work With The Indian Air Force

Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar will add another feather to his hat. The master batsman is set to become the first cricketer to work with the Indian Air Force.

After much debate, the Indian Air Force finalised plans to make Tendulkar honorary Group Captain of the Indian Air Force.

The Air Force has forwarded the necessary documents for formalities to the Defence Ministry. But the Prime Minister's Office and the President will have to give their consent before any official announcement is made.

Amitabh Bachchan is excited with his first day's experience on Twitter

Amitabh Bachchan may be the megastar of Bollywood, but his draw of 37,500 fans on the first day of Twitter was far less than that of Sachin Tendulkar at 79,000.

Tendulkar was bitten by the Twitter bug early this month, while Amitabh joined Twitter Tuesday and got plenty of welcome messages from various celebrities.

But the 67-year-old, who regularly writes on his blog and also has a mobile blog and a voice blog, is excited with his first day's experience on Twitter.

"Day 1 on Twitter, Day 757 on blog, Day 138 from the year... endless days of love and affection to those that count and follow... love," Amitabh posted on his Twitter account.

"33,341 followers in a few hours of starting! Tweety baby I love you!! Keep it rolling," he added.

Currently the actor is following his son, Abhishek and Sachin on the site.
