Actress Neetu Chandra Ended Up Smoking

Neetu Chandra (8)

I was just about to go for my bubble bath when a parinda from Andheri’s Lokhandwala Complex came and perched on my French window. What have you got I wonder, only to hear that there’s a tiddy-bitty on Neetu Chandra. Off all people?

The sex-siren, who is currently in Pattaya, shooting for the Tamil flick, Aadhi Bhagavan, is down with a bout of cough. How? Well, her character smokes in a scene and Neetu, who is a non-smoker took a while to get the hang of it all. Bas, aur kya?

The bechari Ms Chandra ended up smoking almost two packets before her shot was okayed. And by the end of it, she was down with a sore throat. Acting ke liye kuchh bhi karega is a mantra for many in moviedom. After all, such is life dearies.

Neetu Chandra Running With The Commonwealth Games Torch

As New Delhi gets ready to host the Commonwealth Games in October 2010, actress Neetu Chandra became one of the few privileged Bollywood celebrities to have the honour of running with the Commonwealth Games torch (popularly known as the Queen's Baton) in her hometown Patna, this week.

Neetu was selected for the relay, owing to her active association in sports. Apart from being a regular basketball player, the actress is a Black Belt 2nd Dan, having participated in various martial arts tournaments at a district, national, as well as international level.

"The Commonwealth Games promote international integration, so it was a huge honour for me to sprint with the torch. I got goose bumps in excitement," she exclaimed after the run.

"The Queen's Baton felt like a 'power baton' and gave me a different kind of high. It was a mix of pride and responsibility," Neetu added. Way to go, girl!

Neetu Chandra Loves To Move Like Shakira And Jlo

She’s a Black Belt 2nd Dan. She loves to cook veggies and chicken. She’s a basketball player, but only plays with men! She’s into kathak, but loves to move like Shakira and JLo. She rides motorbikes, though she banged the last one!

She sings quite well and plays the harmonium. Now, she’s learning to play the flute, as well as the tanpura. She’s perhaps the only Bollywood actress hailing from Bihar. If you are thinking she’s a multi-faceted personality, this could just be the beginning.

Here’s re-introducing the all-new Neetu Chandra. What’s more! Having lost around 10 kgs of weight recently, the girl has started looking great.

As far as Bollywood is concerned, Neetu will next be seen in Anees Bazmee’s No Problem next. Of course, after all this she has very little work in Bollywood. But then this place is a mom-pop shop. And Neetu has many Godfathers but no producer-father.

Actress Neetu Chandra Is Involved In Many Social Causes

It’s not just glam and hotness that define Neetu Chandra. The pretty lass, who was in the city to shoot for a song in Mysskin’s forthcoming Yuddham Sei, is also involved in many social causes. In fact, she’s taken it upon herself to pioneer the cause of blood donation.

She will be organising a campaign in aid of the cause in Bihar (where she was born) and Maharashtra this week. She will also be holding a blood donation camp for a week where she will also be donating blood. “Today, the world celebrates Blood Donor Day, a day dedicated to thank all blood donors. It’s our duty to ensure that safe blood is always available for transfusion,” she says.

Ever since she joined hands with the UNICEF India for their AIDS awareness programme three years ago, the issue has been close to her heart. “I recently went on a field trip to the interiors of Maharashtra and Bihar. I was shocked to find that an entire village was HIV positive.

And when they come across people who aren’t HIV positive, they get jealous and try to inflict injuries on them. This sad state has to change,” she adds. Meanwhile, Neetu’s all excited about shooting with director Ameer for a song in Yuddham Sei. “I’ve heard that Ameer usually keeps to himself on the sets. But, he’s such a fun person to be with. And man, is he energetic! He’s not even a trained dancer but danced like an expert. I would love to work with him again,” she signs off.
