Beach babe: Julia Roberts showed off her toned bikini body as she relaxed in the sun during a family holiday to Hawaii yesterday

She was recently at the centre of a row over airbrushing use in beauty commercials but it is clear that Julia Roberts is pretty much picture perfect.

The 43-year-old Oscar winner put her enviable bikini body on display yesterday, showing off a figure women half her age would be jealous of.

Romantic vacation: Julia and her husband Danny Moder shared a smooch on the beach

The Pretty Woman star looked timeless in a blue two-piece as she relaxed on the beach with her family during a Hawaiian getaway.

The actress has clearly taken good care of herself over the years and still looked toned and taut as she spent time splashing in the ocean with her children and relaxing on the sand.

Tanned and toned: The 43-year-old mother of three looked svelte in a blue patterned two piece

Julia spent most of the day getting tanned in just the dark blue tropical patterned string bikini but late covered up to protect her skin with a white shirt and sarong wrap.

She also donned a straw hat and large sunglasses to cover her face as she lay under a make shift tent she cleverly made for her children to play in.

She even took a dip in the water in her clothes, trying to cool off from the searing temperatures.

Chill out time: Julia relaxed in the shade with her eldest son, twin Phinnaeus

The actress was joined by her husband of nine years, cameraman Daniel Moder, and the couples three children, Twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, five, and son Henry, four.

The children appeared to be enjoyed their time at the beach, playing in the sand and learning how to body board as their proud parents looked on.

The family have followed in the footsteps of the like of Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Allesandra Ambrosio who have all headed to the celeb favourite holiday destination in recent weeks.

Michele, who plays a talented high school student Rachel Berry in the hit US musical series, hopes the ‘Pretty Woman’ actress will be the next famous face to do a cameo in the show after Gwyneth Paltrow and Britney Spears.

Although the leading lady of ‘Glee’ hopes that Roberts will be next in line, she however admits that she would be “dumbstruck” if she ever had to share a scene with the Oscar winning actress.

“We may not be able to work together because I would get so dumbstruck. There are a few people that I would get like that with. Even now I am getting tongue-tied just thinking about it. I would be a wreck if she were actually standing in front of me,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

“It is just too much to think about. It is weird for me when I find myself talking to people that I have watched on the television or in movies all my life. I do get a little starstruck,” she added.

Tom Hanks multi-tasking is pretty impressive : Julia Roberts

Los Angeles, July 11 : They last appeared together in 2007 film "Charlie Wilson's War" and now Julia Roberts has teamed up with Tom Hanks again in his directorial venture "Larry Crowne", and she is all praise for his multi-tasking abilities.

Julia Roberts, Hollywood Gossips, Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, Tom Hanks
"Tom gives 100 percent in every department all day long. He's happy. He's buoyant. He's present. It's mind-boggling that this is his second time directing, and he has it down. He can shape-shift from acting to directing. It's pretty impressive," Roberts said in an e-mail interaction.

Hanks has not only directed the film but has also produced and written it. Distributed by Universal Pictures, the film is about a middle-aged Navy veteran Larry Crowne (Hanks), who after losing his job at a retail chain tries to change his life by going back to college. In his public-speaking class, Larry gets attracted to his teacher Mercedes Tainot (Roberts), who is herself upset with her husband.

"The story is charming, yet topical, for so many of the characters who are losing faith and trying to cope by rediscovering themselves. I was intrigued by it all, especially Mercedes and her drinking problem," she said.

"As an actor to be able to play that, it is so fun and heartbreaking and challenging. She (Mercedes) has pickled herself into this cocoon of an unhappy life. So without hesitation, I called Tom back and said I would hitch my wagon to his," she added.

Roberts started her Hollywood career with 1987 film "Firehouse". However, she became a star after playing the lead in 1990's romanticcomedy "Pretty Woman".

She won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2001 for her performance in "Erin Brockovich". Roberts is known for her films "My Best Friend's Wedding", "Mystic Pizza", "Notting Hill", "Runaway Bride", "Valentine's Day", "Ocean's Eleven" and "Ocean's Twelve".

Born to Baptist and Catholic parents, the 43-year-old actress started practicing Hinduism in 2009 after she visited India to shoot for her film "Eat, Pray, Love".

"Hinduism is something that I'm very intrigued by and very interested in. Along with my husband Danny Moder and our three children, twins Phinnaeus and Hazel and Henry - we go to temples to chant, pray and celebrate," said the actress, who loves "Indian spicy food".

"Shooting in India was an enlightening experience for me. My children love India. Hazel said when she grows up, that's where (India) she's going to live," she added.

Currently Roberts is working on Indian director Tarsem Singh's "Snow White" and the actress says, "His version of the Evil Queen is just going to be so fun."

Wishing You All A Very Happy Diwali-Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts

The song "Silent Night, Only Night" is what we sing to usher in Christmas on Christmas Eve. The same cannot be sung for Diwali though I feel the essence of both is the same in many ways. Christmas and Diwali are festivals of lights, good spirits and death of evil.

Ever since I developed my liking and fondness for Hinduism, I have been attracted and deeply fascinated by many facets of the multi dimensional Hinduism. As I studied more and more of it, I fathomed the depths of one of the oldest religions of civilisation and understood that the spirituality in it transcends many barriers of mere religion.

Diwali is one such major facet. It not only belongs to Hinduism but is universal in nature and in its essence too. Diwali ignites the values of self confidence, love for humanity, peace, prosperity and above all eternity which goes beyond all mortal factors.

What do I visualise when I think of Diwali? Lights, lights everywhere, not even an iota of darkness. I have learnt that Diwali is one of the highly celebrated festivals of Hinduism. Coming to know more about it, I understand that Diwali should be celebrated unanimously throughout the world as a gesture of goodwill.

When I think of Diwali, I can never imagine a world broken into fragments by narrow feelings of communalism and religion which does not care for human benevolence. My movie "Eat, Pray, Love" has been well received in India and I am ever grateful to countless Indians for the love, confidence and trust they have bestowed on my acting abilities. Wishing you all a very happy and jubilant Diwali and promising to return to this sacred land again and again for the best of creativity.

Julia Roberts Is A Practising Hindu

Oscar winning Hollywood star Julia Roberts says she is a "practising Hindu" after she shot for the film "Eat, Pray and Love" in India and regularly goes to temples to "chant and pray and celebrate" with her family.

Roberts, 42, who won a legion of fans after she essayed the role of a prostitute in "Pretty Woman", said: "I'm definitely a practising Hindu. Golly, I've been so spoiled with my friends and family in this life."

The actress said she goes to temples with her three children - Hazel, Phinnaeus and Henry - and husband cameraman Daniel Moder, reports told.

Roberts, who was born to a Baptist and Catholic couple in the US, hopes to be reincarnated as "something quiet" after the stress of her celebrity lifestyle.

"Next time I want to be just something quiet and supporting," she is quoted as saying.

In "Eat, Pray and Love", Roberts plays a woman hoping to find herself through Hindu spirituality.

It is a big screen adaptation of the bestselling memoir of the same name by Elizabeth Gilbert. Roberts plays a recently-divorced woman travelling the world trying to find herself. The character visits Italy for food, India for spirituality and Bali, where she finds love.

The actress caused controversy in India last September when locals were barred from celebrating an important Hindu religious festival while she shot scenes for the film in their temple on the outskirts of New Delhi.

Villagers hoping to mark the beginning of Navratri, nine days of worship of their Goddess Durga, at Ashram Hari Mandir in Haryana, found their temple sealed by Roberts's vast security team of 350 guards, bulletproof cars and a helicopter.

One of Julia’s biggest ever box office hits was "Pretty Woman" in which she landed the female lead opposite Richard Gere.
