Basketball Wives is back with season two and once again, they are fighting. Ironically, most of the fighting revolves around Evelyn Lozada. She is the most outspoken of the bunch and it has led to confrontations with Tami Roman and Royce Reed.
Evelyn Lozada
Lozada loves money and is attempting to capitalize on the near beating she took from Roman, over sleeping with her husband, Kenny Anderson. In response to the distasteful shirts, Roman is threatening legal action and served Lozada a letter of intent. Things got ugly pretty fast.
Tami Roman
Producer and star, Shaunie O'Neal, pretends she is the peacemaker, but let's be real, she is the Puppetmaster, pulling their strings in the background, hoping for fights and higher ratings. She is definitely in control of this stable of women. She is like the black Gloria Allred. They are all beautiful women. Why they are so insecure and feel the need to fight so much, is anyone's guess.
Nude model and reality star, Imogen Thomas, is illustrating that money is the motive for leaking the affair she conducted for six months, with Manchester United football player, Ryan Giggs. Thomas has been seen living it up, going out to clubs and restaurants, while claiming she is heartbroken over the leak, she allegedly had nothing to do with.
Ryan Giggs, the Welsh, biracial Man U footballer, has one of the most distinguished careers in the sport
However, court documents indicate, she attempted to extract 50,000 British pounds from Giggs, to keep silent where the press is concerned, regarding their affair. Bringing this point home even more, is the fact Thomas has been sending out emails stating that companies seeking to benefit from the publicity she is receiving, due to the scandal, should contact her regarding product placements. The mass email also mentions a television show she intends to appear on shortly, on the wings of the adultery scandal.
Imogen Thomas
In other news, Twitter has been turning over the user data of people in Britain that violated Giggs' super injunction, obtained in court to conceal his affair with Thomas, when she began attempting to extract money from him for her silence. Violators could face contempt of court charges, fines and property forfeitures (seizures). However, I can't help but think, Thomas was behind the leak, as court papers revealed, Giggs was not the source. Adultery is wrong, but Thomas should be sued for dragging Giggs, his wife and their kids, through a public nightmare to fatten her wallet, in violation of a super injunction.
Imogen Thomas ‘to cash in on her affair with Ryan Giggs’
London, May 29...Her company Cassius Management sent an e-mail last week touting for business and said that they have recently taken on the reality television star..."Imogen is currently front page news and has just signed a television deal for the forthcoming months. Please let me know if you would be interested in Imogen promoting any of your lines. Given the level of exposure she is currently experiencing this would be a great opportunity for your products to be seen by millions," the Daily Express quoted the company as stating in the email...
The sisters of singer, Toni Braxton, have been fighting again on the family's reality show "Braxton Family Values." Tamar and Traci got into a very acrimonious argument, where the former belittled the latter, which ended in tears for both.
Tamar Braxton
Braxton is also considering leaving Atlanta, to move to Los Angeles, where she lived in the early nineties. I don't think it is the best idea, due to the heavy drug and alcohol problem prevalent in Hollywood, the entertainment industry, which has damaged many celebrities' children. However, it is Braxton's life and she can do as she pleases.
As those of you know that watch the reality show "Braxton Family Values" singer Toni Braxton's sister, Tamar, is planning on releasing a new CD, after her self-titled debut album over a decade ago, received moderate sales of 100,000 copies (um, that's worldwide, not domestically). This would be a good point to insert the fact that 41-year-old Toni Braxton sold 60,000,000 CDs worldwide, but I'm concerned Tamar might find me and make me pay for writing that.
Toni Braxton
Tamar Braxton, 34, the youngest yet grumpiest of the five sisters, who all have the initials TB (which, ironically, is also short for Tuberculosis) is married to record executive, Vincent Herbert. He is responsible for signing the accident prone, Lady Gaga to a record deal.
Tamar has been nagging Herbert to put her on a Lady Gaga record and he has flat out refused. Is it because she can't sing? No, not at all. She sings better than Lady Gaga and some of her tones are reminiscent of sister Toni, due to genetics. Is it because she can crack mirrors and cameras like Madonna? No, she's not homely and gollum like at all, because of bad plastic surgery. Is it because she has a crazy weave like Beyonce? No, she didn't clear out a weave warehouse to get her hair done in one sitting.
Tamar Braxton
Then what's the problem, you ask? Well, for one, since she is connected in the music industry and can gain access to proper promotion via air and video play, I'd say it's Tamar's inability to pick good songs and her funky, know it all attitude that probably made her sisters want to sell her into slavery like Joseph in the Bible (who is the opposite of Tamar).
Tamar Braxton on "Braxton Family Values"
Tamar's husband is looking very nervous regarding her CD, like Lindsay Lohan before a breathalyzer test. That pervasive fear of failure is very apparent. He probably also knows Tamar might choke him out if the CD flops - Herbert would just wind up missing (LOL I'm kidding, as that would be wrong).
UPDATE: Correction, "If You Don't Wanna Love Me" was released in 2000. The version of the song I heard had the incorrect date on it. However, Tamar debuted in 1989 with her sisters "The Braxtons" on the track "The Good Life" which predates Beyonce. Tamar's husband Vincent Herbert also produced music for Destinys Child, the group Beyonce debuted with in 1998.
Toni Braxton celebrating the launch of "Braxton Family Values"
Tamar Braxton's jealousy over sister Toni Braxton's success in the music industry, became very apparent in the third episode of "Braxton Family Values." Tamar was not camouflaging her envy and resentment, turning Toni's birthday dinner into a massive whine about her non-existent solo career. Everything was about her and the sisters showed their exasperation, as did Tamar's husband.
In fact, Tamar ruined Toni's birthday, by insulting all her sisters about their marriage problems, bragging that she is the one that knows what she is doing in relationships, as she is married to rich record executive, Vincent Herbert, who signed Lady Gaga. But with the way she treats Herbert, one wonders how long their marriage will last.
Braxton Family Values
Tamar nags him incessantly about re-launching her as a solo artist, after her self-titled debut album in the mid 90s failed to go gold, selling 100,000 copies, resulting in her being dropped from her record deal. In listening to the 90s song "If You Don't Wanna Love Me" by Tamar, it is very apparent, she is the singer Beyonce has been trying to emulate for over a decade, when she debuted with Destiny's Child in 1998.
Tamar also insulted and berated Toni for not wanting to go out much, labeling her the "Fun Police." However, she needs to remember her sister has been battling breast cancer, lupus and heart issues. When one is physically sick and on medication, it drains the strength from one's body and one's desire to go out and have fun, due to literal fatigue and sometimes malaise. Pushing a sick person to go to the club is not a good idea.
Toni Braxton prior to the reality show "Braxton Family Values"
Some may be wondering about the slight puffiness of Braxton's face on the reality show, which is most likely due to the fact, people on medication and those who have undergone many medical procedures, sometimes retain water and other fluids in the face. Medication sometimes alters the way the body stores and processes water.
And speaking of faces, the shot of Tamar's wedding photo with Herbert, shown on last nights episode, confirms what I have thought from the show's debut, she had a nose job. Tamar has the same altered nose Lil Kim, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and Latoya Jackson had at one point. The sad thing is there was nothing wrong with their noses. Being in an industry with flashbulbs constantly going off, poor lighting and the wrong make-up, will make black, Jewish and Hispanic people's faces, particularly the nose, look different than in person. This leads to many getting a nose job.
Singer Toni Braxton, 42, took a dig at reality TV star Evelyn Lozada of VH-1's "Basketball Wives" during a dinner interview. Braxton, who launched her own reality show this week entitled " Braxton Family Values" stated she is trying to update her career.
"Braxton Family Values"
To do so, she has decided to be "more 2011" and as such, decided to do the program for the We Network, allowing her fans more access to her life. She also stated she is pondering retirement, but has not decided yet.
Toni Braxton
Braxton then stated, "They tell me what's next is to take pictures of my boobies and put them on my phone" and release them wait for them to leak, as in the case of Lozada, whose chest ended up on the internet. Considering Lozada's temper, this may not end well.
Tamar Braxton
Braxton also stated, "Sometimes in your family you don't like each other, but you have to learn to get along." Hmm I wonder who she was talking about. Could it be Tamar Braxton, the sister on "Braxton Family Values" that seemed to upset everyone the most.
Evelyn Lozada
In other news, Tamar Braxton has stated, she has calmed down since filming the reality show with her sisters. Apparently, after watching the finished product, she realized how unkind and abrasive she came off and without provocation.
I caught a portion of the reality show "Braxton Family Values" which debuted last night and I'm somewhat disappointed. It stars R&B singer, Toni Braxton, her mom Evelyn and the vocalist's four sisters, Tamar, Towanda, Traci and Trina, who were members of the group "The Braxtons."
I was expecting something more wholesome, as their dad is a preacher. However, I'd briefly forgotten the sexually overt path their music careers took in the 1990s. My bad. The show mostly consists of bickering and barefaced jealousy towards Toni, who seems to take it all in stride.
Evelyn, Toni and Tamar
In the 1990s, producers L.A. and Babyface heard the group "The Braxtons" sing. At the time, the group consisted of Toni and her sisters. However, due to the fact their label LaFace already had a girl group, the troublesome TLC, they decided not to sign another, but they did take a liking to Toni's voice, which was reminiscent of veteran singer, Anita Baker. And so her singing career began.
The other sisters struggled through group and solo projects, but none matched the success of Toni Braxton at LaFace. It wasn't because the others couldn't sing, but due to the material they were given. Great songs are a big commodity in music, as material will make or break you. As the phrase goes, "You're only as good as your last hit."
"Braxton Family Values" is somewhat sad, as some of the sisters seem envious of the success Toni, 42, received over an 18-year career. You sense that almost immediately and it was to be expected to some degree, but with one sister it seems like resentment. Tamar Braxton, 34, comes across as the most bitter, as her solo career did not reach the heights her sister's did.
Tamar, who is, uh, very confident (yea that's it), referred to herself on the show as "one of the best singers in the world" (you go girlfriend) had two R&B hit singles in the 1990s and sold 100,000 copies of her debut album. It's not that she can't sing, because all the sisters can. However, the material she received wasn't strong enough.
Toni was also correct in describing Tamar's attitude as "abrasive." Most people don't want to spend time in the field with artists that have constant temper tantrums and attitudes, as Tamar displayed on the reality show. She comes across as spoiled, with an overwhelming air of entitlement, due to her husband.
Tamar, 34, is married to music executive, Vincent Herbert, who in all honestly, she doesn't seem to be in love with, as she talks more about him signing Lady GaGa and helping said singer, while not assisting her with a solo album. Tamar talks more about Herbert's position and money, than love. The two were also seen fighting on camera. This can't be good for a marriage.
Sadly, the Braxtons seem to have lost touch with their roots and it has brought them much sadness. Yes, they still profess their Christian faith, but they've become quite Hollywood and it has damaged them. For example, they like to drink liquor, but considering Toni Braxton has serious health issues and her look alike sister Trina, has become an alcoholic with a DUI under her belt, drinking is clearly not for them.
In short, this family can't hold their liquor and it is breeding addiction and other problems. I'm not writing it to be mean, but pointing out the obvious they seem oblivious to, because they are going to hurt themselves if they continue with the drinking. Yes, Jesus did turn water to wine in the Bible, but not for people to get drunk on it.
Towanda Braxton spoke of her open marriage on the show, which really is not a healthy Christian lifestyle. It's not healthy for anyone - Christian or not. She needs to remedy that. Towanda and her husband need to work out their differences and not present an open marriage as the way to live to their impressionable children. That is not God's plan for anyone's life and it has to be heartbreaking. I hope they are able to sort that out and properly reconcile.
Toni's marriage is not in a good state either. For years she has been married to Keri Lewis of the music group Mint Condition. However their marriage has encountered some problems and they are separated. It's always sad to see that happen to people.
Toni Braxton
The couple have two children, one of whom is autistic. He's a sweet little boy. Toni has also battled her own health problems, such as breast cancer, angina and lupus. That's a serious triple threat. She really could use her husband and family together.
It's sad to see Christian families experience such trouble, but such is life. However, Christians must strive to do better and not stay stuck in the things they know to be wrong and destructive in God's sight.
According to TMZ, "Basketball Wives" star, Evelyn Lozada, has rejoined the cast for a third season, after producers doubled her salary and issued an apology for making her look bad on national television. However, she made herself look bad in sleeping with a married man (Kenny Anderson), then cursing at his wife (Tami Roman) for being upset that she had the gall to have sex with her husband (at the time).
Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada
The show's producer, Shaunie O'Neal, has been desperate to resign Lozada, as her outlandish conduct meant higher ratings. They even roped in footballer Chad Ochocinco into the last season, hoping for a ratings boost. It remains to be seen whether they can keep up the abrasive antics with Lozada and other women on the show.
Ochocinco has been trying to launch a soccer career in America, during a break from the NFL, but has been unsuccessful thus far. A reality show would have been a diversion while he bides its time. However, the couple may have been scared off the idea by bloggers, who cited the destruction of relationships after realty shows.
Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of singers, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, is in talks for her own reality show. The scandal prone aspiring singer/actress, made regular appearances on her parents' reality show "Being Bobby Brown."
She now seeks to launch out on her own in the same genre. Bobby Brown has been talking about his daughter's talents in interviews, stating she sings better than her mom and dances like her dad. A debut album is also scheduled.
"Basketball Wives" star, Shaunie O'Neal, is stating everything is set, regarding co-star, Evelyn Lozada, returning to her Jerry Springer-esque reality show. O'Neal also claims ignorance, regarding stories of Lozada wanting more money to return, stating that is not her department. If you say so.
It is being stated, the E! Network is pursing the duo, in a deal that would give them far more money than what O'Neal is currently paying Lozada (reportedly $7,500 per episode). Since Lozada is the main star of the show, what will that do to O'Neal's ratings.
Tami Roman
In other news, O'Neal is getting offensive at people stating the show "Basketball Wives" makes black women look bad (I said that weeks ago in a well read and well linked article: Shaunie Stirring The Doo Doo In The NBA).O'Neal stated people who feel that way should not watch the show, which was a dumb thing to say for someone wanting and needing ratings to get renewed each season, especially in light of the fact, two of her cast members are actively trying to leave for greener pastures, via their own shows on other networks (Lozada and Tami Roman).

Shaunie O'Neal Shares All
According to recent news reports, Evelyn has demanded $20,000 per episode for the upcoming third season or she will not return. Is this true?
I don’t know what amount she’s asked for, to be honest. Evelyn and I have talked almost every day since the show and everything is cool. I do know she’s planning on coming back. We don’t talk about how much she’s gonna ask for or how much she’s expecting because it’s really not a subject that I care about. Especially being a cast member and her friend, along with being on the production side, I don’t even want to deal with that. I don’t do numbers, I don’t do salaries. That’s not my department. I want no parts of that.
Reality TV star and walking butt, Kim Kardashian, stated if she were not on television, painfully trying to act, she would be, "A crime scene investigator (forensic investigator) or if not a make up artist." Ok, Kim, spell "forensic investigator." I'll give you a head start. It's spelled "forensic investigator."
Will the engaged couple of, NFL football player, Chad Ochocinco and "Basketball Wives" reality star, Evelyn Lozada, make it down the aisle. The two began their relationship online, slept with each other on the first date, which wasn't a good idea and are now engaged. Marriage is a good thing, but will they make it.
Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada, who bears a slight resemblance to singer Jody Watley
Given the fact the relationship appears to be based in lust and celebrity, will the marriage happen or will it disintegrate like so many other reality show relationships that failed. Ochocinco is laid back, while Lozada has a fiery temper. Will they work well together or have serious issues.
As the cast member from the reality show "Basketball Wives" that gets the most attention, New York born, Miami resident, Evelyn Lozada, has received more coverage than her counterparts. This is due to her looks and brash attitude.
Evelyn Lozada
However, is producer and star, Shaunie O'Neal, jealous and disappointed, as she wanted "Basketball Wives" to get her out from ex-husband Shaquille O'Neal's shadow, but now she is stuck in Lozada's spotlight.
Contentious reality star, Evelyn Lozada, of the show "Basketball Wives" is demanding a higher appearance fee, according to TMZ. The news was published today, as it was revealed the women on the program are currently making $7,500 per episode, but Lozada, who got her butt kicked in the finale by Tami Roman, is holding out for $20,000 for every show shot (not literally).
Last week, when Lozada quit "Basketball Wives" via the internet, the Judiciary Report did state it was a money issue, "Exactly how much more money did O'Neal offer Lozada to possibly allow Roman to head butt and drop kick her in season three" (Shaunie Says No One Is Leaving "Basketball Wives"). The issue has now revealed itself as a contractual dispute for increased earnings.
Evelyn Lozada
Side Bar: On "Basketball Wives" they keep making mention of their "circle." However, with the way they behave and attack each other, one would think it is a circle of hell. One would also think they had the nuclear codes for the nation and have to protect it in some secret "circle."
Hollywood actress, Gabrielle Union, who is not a favorite of most blogs, slammed reality show stars as "jackas*es." Union was sued by a real basketball wife, Siohvaughn Wade, for breaking up her marriage to Miami Heat player, Dwayne Wade, which resulted in acrimonious legal proceedings that were quite sad.
"Basketball Wives"
Union, stated she is not interested in the reality show "Basketball Wives" because, "I pay my own bills, first off, so I've never put myself in a position to have to be a jacka*s or to have to sell myself down the river for a reality show. I was just raised a little differently and my situation is a lot different, being that I have my own career, my own celebrity status on my own, independent and before him. But don't knock anybody's hustle, it's just not my path."
It's amazing that you were "raised a little differently" yet your mommy forgot to tell you don't break up people's marriages. Go figure!
"Basketball Wives" star and producer, Shaunie O'Neal, has finally conceded, costar, Eveyln Lozada, may have been trying to leave the show, after Tami Roman started beating her up, for sleeping with her ex-husband, Kenney Anderson. A public backlash ensued, as the couple was married at the time Lozada had sex with Anderson.
Shaunie O'Neal
Yesterday, O'Neal stated to ESPN regarding the departures, "it was just a rumor" and "no one is leaving the show." However, today O'Neal told the New Miami Times, "(Lozada) She is having a difficult time with the world judging her right now and having a lot to say... Its hard emotionally and mentally for the world sitting back and saying what they think of her."
"Basketball Wives" star and producer, Shaunie O'Neal, made a complete u-turn on earlier statements she made, on a departure from her show, regarding dancer Royce Reed. Boutique owner, Evilyn Evelyn Lozada, also announced she was leaving the show, after O'Neal set her up for a beatdown, handed out by Tami Roman, the ex-wife of former NBA star, Kenny Anderson.
Yesterday, the Judiciary Report wrote, the departure of the two ladies would put a dent in the show, as they are the most popular and controversial, judging by public feedback. Today, O'Neal announced via a message on ESPN that "No one is leaving the show."
Girlfriend thought about her ratings and changed her mind. Exactly how much more money did O'Neal offer Lozada to possibly allow Roman to head butt and drop kick her in season three. Hold on to your extensions, girl, because next season could land you in traction. Not to encourage violence, but that's why you shouldn't sleep with people's husbands.
Now that Shaunie O'Neal has lost her two most controversial and popular reality stars on "Basketball Wives" with the dismissal of Royce Reed and departure of Evelyn Lozada, how will she replace them, considering many NBA wives and girlfriends are avoiding the tabloid styled reality show.
Royce Reed
O'Neal rigged fights and sticky situations for ratings, only to lose her two top stars in the end. Not to mention, the ex-girlfriend of Miami Heat's Chris Bosh, has been withdrawn from contention for next season. All O'Neal's scheming has backfired. Either way, she needs to clean up the content of the show.
