This week’s episode of Braxton Family Values, revealed the sisters are in the beginning stages of recording an inspirational album, which made their Christian mother Evelyn quite happy. The sisters’ father is a preacher. Toni, the most successful of the bunch, has agreed to sing on a few of the tracks, while the other girls will shoulder most of the vocal responsibilities.
Here’s hoping the album will change Tamar Braxton, who is constantly seen attacking her sister’s opinions and lives and much to their distress. Tamar married a rich music executive, Vincent Herbert, who is responsible for signing Lady Gaga. Due to this fact, Tamar uses his money to show off on her siblings, which is unkind and ungracious.

For instance, Tamar insulted the potential new home of sister Trina Braxton, when they went for a viewing. Tamar referred to the house Trina’s husband intends to buy, as small and poor, when it was a nice, well maintained pool home.
It showed a lack of class disparaging the property in that manner. There is nothing wrong with not having a lot of money. One should live within their means according to what they can afford.

She demeaned her sister, when Tamar isn’t even rich, as her husband is and with the way the music industry works, it can all be taken away from them in an instant. Her husband is on top now, but so was his peer, Jermaine Dupri, who has taken a catastrophic financial fall.
Never gloat over wealth. As the Bible illustrates, in a time proven adage, it can disappear just as fast as it arrived. Life is not about material things. If you live for money, you will fail to gauge the real meaning of life and happiness. If you use money to abuse and degrade others, life will find a way of making you pay for it.
In the April 13. 2011 article Braxton Family Values Hits A Sour Note, the Judiciary Report commented, Tamar Braxton is jealous of her world renown sister, Toni Braxton. On May 5, 2011, realizing it is the impression she left with many, Tamar did an interview with Eurweb, stating she is not jealous of Toni. If you say so, Tamar.
I get the vibe from all the Braxton sisters that they wonder why it was Toni that producers L.A. and Babyface picked and launched to stardom as a solo artist, rather than one of them. That’s just how the industry works. They don’t think about who gets left behind.

It’s the same thing that transpired with TLC, when L.A. Reid dropped the founding member of the group, Crystal Jones, to bring in Rozanda "Chili" Thomas, who according to an Atlanta radio show, he was having sex with, while married to singer Pebbles. Reid is a serial philanderer.
Tamar also addressed another claim the Judiciary Report made in the aforementioned Braxton Family Values Hits A Sour Note article, which is she married record executive, Vincent Herbert, for what he could do for her and not love.
I've known for weeks that Tamar's husband, Vincent Herbert, reads the Judiciary Report. I guess she is reading it as well. The articles I've done on the reality show Braxton Family Values, have been linked and referred by thousands of people and read by hundreds of thousands.

Tamar Braxton Not Jealous of Toni, but Isn’t She a Goldigger?
May 5, 2011 at 05:45 am ...
On being jealous of Toni:
This whole jealousy thing is ridiculous! Toni works really, really hard. I’m proud of her, not jealous of her. I don’t even want to be the same kind of artist. I care about my sisters and I’m so passionate about everything-especially them-so when people see me going off, it’s just my emotions. I want to see them win and be happy. Sometimes I feel like I want to learn from them rather than them learning things from me all the time. I know a lot of things I say are things my sisters don’t want to hear from their youngest sibling, but I say them.
She’s been labeled a golddigger:
Absolutely ridiculous! I find it highly offensive because me and my husband dated each other for seven years, but we’ve only been married for [a little more than] two years. I mean, who’s gonna be with someone just ’cause they got some money and be miserable? I ain’t doing that! If I didn’t love my husband for who he is, then why do I want to work and have my own career? That doesn’t even make any sense. Me and Vince are regular. Some days we cool, some days we want to pull each other’s hair out, but that’s real life because [two people] are not going to agree on everything. It also depends on what your definition of love is, it’s different things for different people. Some people think hugging and kissing someone in public all the time is love, but when Vince told me [thatsthetruth.com], it was out of love because he didn’t want me looking crazy, throwing temper tantrums without understanding that there’s an order to things in this business.
What’s up with the nose job?
I believe in plastic surgery or anything you have to do to make yourself feel good. I’m all about self-esteem. I’ve had my nose done. I was born without cartilage in my nose and when I was 16 I had my first operation—an implant put in my nose. My father had the same surgery. The reason I had it done was because it was hard for me to breathe and I snored terribly. Itwasnotcute.org (laughs). Eventually the implant gave me headaches, so I had to have the cartilage from my ear put in my nose. I have to have it done for a second time, remove the cartilage and remove the implant, but it’s so painful that I’ve been putting it off. But I have to have it done.
Tamar Braxton, the sister of Grammy Award winning vocalist, Toni Braxton, is tired of being in her shadow as a background singer. So much so, she is voicing her displeasure at being in the background all the time. She even slammed the job of being a background vocalist.

Will this sibling rivalry lead to trouble for the family. What happens if the two start competing against each other on the music charts. Toni is the more modest sister, whose had the greater chart success, while Tamar has a moderately successful career under her belt with the group the Braxtons and as a solo artist, but her ego is in outer space, as she has referred to herself as one of the best singers in the world.
Tamar Braxton on the reality show "Braxton Family Values"
What if Tamar begins to outsell Toni. What happens if Toni outstrips Tamar again. Will it be world war three. Can their relationship survive the rivalry. More importantly, will Tamar trounce Beyonce, who has been ripping off her previous work. Much pressure is on Tamar's husband, music executive, Vincent Herbert, who signed Lady Gaga. Will their marriage survive if Tamar flops. Actually, will he survive if Tamar flops.
I caught a portion of the reality show "Braxton Family Values" which debuted last night and I'm somewhat disappointed. It stars R&B singer, Toni Braxton, her mom Evelyn and the vocalist's four sisters, Tamar, Towanda, Traci and Trina, who were members of the group "The Braxtons."
I was expecting something more wholesome, as their dad is a preacher. However, I'd briefly forgotten the sexually overt path their music careers took in the 1990s. My bad. The show mostly consists of bickering and barefaced jealousy towards Toni, who seems to take it all in stride.
Evelyn, Toni and Tamar
In the 1990s, producers L.A. and Babyface heard the group "The Braxtons" sing. At the time, the group consisted of Toni and her sisters. However, due to the fact their label LaFace already had a girl group, the troublesome TLC, they decided not to sign another, but they did take a liking to Toni's voice, which was reminiscent of veteran singer, Anita Baker. And so her singing career began.
The other sisters struggled through group and solo projects, but none matched the success of Toni Braxton at LaFace. It wasn't because the others couldn't sing, but due to the material they were given. Great songs are a big commodity in music, as material will make or break you. As the phrase goes, "You're only as good as your last hit."
"Braxton Family Values" is somewhat sad, as some of the sisters seem envious of the success Toni, 42, received over an 18-year career. You sense that almost immediately and it was to be expected to some degree, but with one sister it seems like resentment. Tamar Braxton, 34, comes across as the most bitter, as her solo career did not reach the heights her sister's did.
Tamar, who is, uh, very confident (yea that's it), referred to herself on the show as "one of the best singers in the world" (you go girlfriend) had two R&B hit singles in the 1990s and sold 100,000 copies of her debut album. It's not that she can't sing, because all the sisters can. However, the material she received wasn't strong enough.
Toni was also correct in describing Tamar's attitude as "abrasive." Most people don't want to spend time in the field with artists that have constant temper tantrums and attitudes, as Tamar displayed on the reality show. She comes across as spoiled, with an overwhelming air of entitlement, due to her husband.
Tamar, 34, is married to music executive, Vincent Herbert, who in all honestly, she doesn't seem to be in love with, as she talks more about him signing Lady GaGa and helping said singer, while not assisting her with a solo album. Tamar talks more about Herbert's position and money, than love. The two were also seen fighting on camera. This can't be good for a marriage.
Sadly, the Braxtons seem to have lost touch with their roots and it has brought them much sadness. Yes, they still profess their Christian faith, but they've become quite Hollywood and it has damaged them. For example, they like to drink liquor, but considering Toni Braxton has serious health issues and her look alike sister Trina, has become an alcoholic with a DUI under her belt, drinking is clearly not for them.
In short, this family can't hold their liquor and it is breeding addiction and other problems. I'm not writing it to be mean, but pointing out the obvious they seem oblivious to, because they are going to hurt themselves if they continue with the drinking. Yes, Jesus did turn water to wine in the Bible, but not for people to get drunk on it.
Towanda Braxton spoke of her open marriage on the show, which really is not a healthy Christian lifestyle. It's not healthy for anyone - Christian or not. She needs to remedy that. Towanda and her husband need to work out their differences and not present an open marriage as the way to live to their impressionable children. That is not God's plan for anyone's life and it has to be heartbreaking. I hope they are able to sort that out and properly reconcile.
Toni's marriage is not in a good state either. For years she has been married to Keri Lewis of the music group Mint Condition. However their marriage has encountered some problems and they are separated. It's always sad to see that happen to people.
Toni Braxton
The couple have two children, one of whom is autistic. He's a sweet little boy. Toni has also battled her own health problems, such as breast cancer, angina and lupus. That's a serious triple threat. She really could use her husband and family together.
It's sad to see Christian families experience such trouble, but such is life. However, Christians must strive to do better and not stay stuck in the things they know to be wrong and destructive in God's sight.
