Morning after: Princess Beatrice clutches wedding flowers as she leaves Holyroodhouse Palace in Edinburgh with her boyfriend Dave Clarke
They are so beautiful - it really would be a shame to waste them.
Well, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie certainly thought so as they were pictured clutching a bouquet of flowers from the wedding of Zara Phillips and rugby star Mike Tindall.
Perhaps they thought they would brighten up their own homes - and serve as a memento of their cousin's big day.
Or maybe they thought they would cheer up their mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, who was not invited to the Scottish nuptials.
Princess Eugenie - also clutching flowers - leaves in a bright blue dress and blazer with her father Prince Andrew
Despite the beautiful blooms she was carrying, Beatrice looked rather worse-for-wear as she left the Palace at Holyroodhouse in a navy blue blazer, pink scarf and flat shoes - with long-term boyfriend Dave Clark in tow.
A more fresh-faced Princess Eugenie left the palace with her father Prince Andrew in a turquoise dress, black ballet pumps and a navy jacket.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry looked pleased to be out of his wedding suit. He was photographed in a much more hangover-friendly jeans and a blue denim shirt as he got into a white Jaguar XJL for a lift home.
Dressing down: Prince Harry in a more comfortable jeans and linen shirt, and Princess Eugenie looking delighted with her free bouquet
Dressed down as ever, mother-of-the-bride Princess Anne left the palace in a navy blue anorak and departed Edinburgh in a waiting Bentley.
Earlier in the day photographers were waiting outside the palace only to see new groom Mike Tindall still in his wedding gear.
His new bride Zara however, wore flat, brown leather sandals, white jeans and a sleeveless beige top, whilst her hair was scraped back in a ponytail.
Smart: Princesses Eugenie, left, looked elegant in a chocolate-brown dress whilst Princess Beatrice opted for a bright blue dress adorned with flowers and crystals - not to mention a 'satellite dish' hat
With Tindall having finally changed his clothes, the newly-weds headed off in a silver Mercedes to enjoy one last afternoon together before Tindall returns to training with the England rugby squad tomorrow.
Former equestrian world champion Zara, 30, will be competing in the Gatcombe Park horse trials later this week and 32, is likely to feature in a match against Wales next Saturday.
The Queen and Prince Philip left by helicopter and were taken to Balmoral Castle to begin their summer holiday.
Prince Charles and the Duchess or Cornwall are thought to have left before them and headed for the Caslte of Mey.
The pair emerged a little later and Mike had finally changed out of his wedding gear into something a little more casual

THE SATELLITE DISH OR THE LOO SEAT - WHICH WAS WORSE?
It had been widely-regarded as a fashion faux pas – but the pink silk hat that Princess Beatrice wore to the Royal Wedding was almost topped this weekend - but not quite.
At her second royal wedding this year, the Princess showed off her love for unusual headgear with a hat widely described as 'a satellite dish'.
One Twitter commentator tweeted: 'Is Beatrice helping Sky get close up coverage?'
Headgear: Princess Beatrice's 'satellite' dish wedding hat was not as bad as her Royal Wedding 'loo seat'
The peculiar turquoise number perched at an angle on her head and matched her Angela Kelly turquoise double silk fitted jacket and dress which was adorned with flowers and crystals.
But despite it's unusual design, fortunately for Beatrice it did not attract quite as much negative attention as the much-derided hat she wore to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in April.
The 22-year-old put the distinctive Philip Treacy design up for auction on eBay following the uproar raising £81,000 for children's charities.
Not bad for a £1,000 creation which had variously been compared to a cat flap, a pretzel and a toilet seat.
