Grown-up: Suri continued to show more teenage tendencies today, as she tried on her favourite red lipstick for a day out in Manhattan


She was spotted running in heels as she hurried to her gymnastics class yesterday.

And today Suri Cruise continued to dress well beyond her years as she tried on her favourite red lipstick for a day out in Manhattan.

The five-year-old stepped out with lashings of scarlet on her lips, and a rather grown-up outfit which included a handbag, pink bowler and matching scarf, which she draped around her arms.

Of course, Suri is already a dab hand when in comes to make-up - she was first pictured in lipstick at just three years of age.

Later as she stepped out of a cafe with mother Katie Holmes, she carried what appeared to be a children's fashion magazine.

Once again Suri was spending time at Chelsea Piers, the sports complex in the Big Apple, where she has been practising her gymnastics.

Yesterday, she set a cracking pace as she hurried to her class in her favourite T-bar heels.

Suri is rumoured to have more than 130 pairs of shoes, many of which have been custom made.

Meanwhile Katie enjoyed a day out shopping today, where she tried out the trendy 'Heidi' hairstyle.

The 32-year-old stepped out with her locks in a myriad of tiny plaits today, as she made her way around New York.

To finish it all off she sloppily tied a blue and white stripe sweater around her waist.

Suri Cruise set a cracking pace as she hurried her gymnastics class in New York today.

Not even a pair of heels - her favourite, if controversial, accessory - were able to slow her down as she arrived at Chelsea Piers, a sports complex in Manhattan, with her mother Katie Holmes.

Looking much older than her tender age, she skipped along with a handbag on her arm and a doll in the other.


Suri is rumoured to have more than 130 pairs of shoes, many of which have been custom made.

Katie has previously defended her daughter's footwear, saying: 'They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids,' Katie said. 'I found them for her and she loves them.'

Suri later slipped off the shoes and enjoyed a gym class inside the centre.

Katie appeared relaxed in a casual shirt and jeans ensemble as she arrived covered with an unusual colour block sweater.

She was earlier spotted working out at a gym near the family's New York base.

Katie has been stepping up her fitness regimen recently and was just yesterday spotted leaving a gym in Brentwood, California after a hard work out.

The star then jetted to the East Coast later in the day and is in New York ready for the star of New York Fashion Week today.

She is expected to soon start filming Responsible Adults, romantic comedy starring Chace Crawford, about a guy who realizes that his crush was his babysitter 15 years ago.

Her husband, Tom Cruise, is meanwhile hard at work on his upcoming movie Rock Of Ages alongside Julianne Hough and Russell Brand.

The Jack and Jill star looked effortlessly elegant in a simple white top and black trousers, and also carried her daughter's cute piggy backpack for her.

With her movie star parents' matinee looks, there is more than a fair chance Suri is Far and Away the cutest child in her class.

She looked adorable in her school dress and pigtails, and the five-year-old is clearly beginning to look more and more like her superstar father.

No doubt he will have had a special treat waiting at their sprawling $35 million mansion for his little princess, who has just started her elementary education.

Unless he received a bad Minority Report from the youngster's teachers of course.

And while her wardrobe might be packed full of fashionable clothes there is one accessory that the she can’t be without – her blanket.



Suri, five, was left devastated when her favourite comforter was absent from the helicopter she and Katie Holmes were travelling in.

She was seen clutching several toys and followed by her mom the little girl clenched her eyes shut and became very tense as she headed towards the already whirring chopper.



Once on board, Suri let rip a barrage of tears, sobbing as she stared out the window.

The little girl could not be consoled and was left with tears streaming down her face as she and her mother waited for the private aircraft to fly off.



But luckily just before take-off a member of staff managed to find her blanket and get it to the little girl in the nick of time.



Little Suri’s mood changed and she was seen waving gratefully to the man who had helped her.

The mini fashionista teamed a black hat with a pink faux fur coat, purple dress and matching shoes as she left her apartment yesterday.

The 5-year-old was coddled and cosseted by her famous parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes as they touched down in New York this morning.



Her father had her wrapped up in a pink security blanket and carried her in his arms after they arrived via helicopter.

She was later spotted carrying her daughter into their hotel.

The couple were seen leaving the Nokia Centre hand-in-hand after watching the Firework singer perform on her California Dreams tour.
